The moon will nearly be full and so will the streets of downtown Manchester when the community comes together to sip, shop, and donate on October 10from 5–8 p.m. for the first annual “Moonlight Stroll For A Cause.” The Merchants of Manchester by-the Sea are presenting this stroll as their latest monthly shopping and dining event to offer residents great deals and plenty of fun while also supporting the local business community.
Not to mention, some of the proceeds will go to support local charities. Many of the downtown shops and restaurants will donate 10% of their stroll proceeds to a worthy cause. Stores like Mahri, Cuddlefish, J. McLaughlin and 4 BEACH will donate 10% of the evening's sales to Healing Abuse Working for Change (HAWC) in Salem to help victims of domestic violence and raise awareness as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Nearly three out of four Americans personally know someone who is or has been a victim of domestic violence. HAWC provides a 24-hour hotline, advocacy and education, legal aid, children's services and an emergency shelter.
Style Snoop is donating to both the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Like many of the shops and restaurants offering sweet and savory seasonal delights, Style Snoop will also serve up some tasty apple pie spritzers. Stop by Allie’s Café for some pumpkin soup and $5 tapas, and enjoy wine tasting at Richdale starting at 6:30 p.m. The downtown stroll will be a great way to celebrate the fall season, with friends and family coming together on a moonlit night to shop and dine for a cause.
