Our Next Meeting:

We will meet this coming Monday, October 7 starting at 6:30 p.m.  Agenda items include plans for a Special Fall Town Meeting in November and discussing the four Complete Streets projects with a goal of deciding which ones to move forward and with what design elements.

Mosquito Control Efforts:

The continuing warm weather means mosquitos are still active. Please continue to be vigilant to avoid getting bitten — cover up, apply repellant, and avoid outdoor activities after dusk.

Looking for a Communications Coordinator:

As part of our ongoing desire to ensure strong connections between municipal operations and all residents, the Town is looking to hire a part-time communications specialist. The goal: to avoid anyone ever saying, “I didn’t know about that!” See the Town webpage for a complete job description. The application deadline is October 9.

Fire Chief Search Committee:

We will soon start the search to hire a new fire chief. Residents who are interested in assisting in the search process should send a letter/email expressing their interest to Sonja Nathan, executive assistant to the town administrator (nathans@manchester.ma.us). A game plan for filling the police chief position will be finalized within a few weeks.

Trash, Recycling, Compost: Regular Monday and Tuesday pick-ups; please remember NOT to use plastic bags for your recycled goods!
