Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Chief Resigns
Town Administrator Gregory T. Federspiel reports that Manchester-by-the-Sea Fire Chief George Kramlinger has submitted his resignation, effective Friday, Oct. 5.
Chief Kramlinger has served the Town of Manchester-by-the-Sea since Oct. 2016 after careers leading the Massachusetts Fire Academy and in the U.S. Air Force.
“I wish to sincerely thank Chief Kramlinger for his service to our community, and I wish him the best in his next chapter,” Town Administrator Federspiel said. “The Town benefited from his expert knowledge in fire fighting techniques and training.”
The Town will begin the process of selecting a new permanent fire chief immediately.
When reached by email by Cricket staff, Chief Kramlinger responded, “I do not have another job lined up and have not been looking. It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens, businesses and visitors of Manchester-by-the-Sea.”
